Rang-ay Bank opened its 4th Branch for the year 2012 last August 28 with the blessing and inauguration of its Dingras, Ilocos Norte Branch.
The opening ceremony and cutting of the ribbon was led by Dingras Town Mayor Engr. Erdio Valenzuela and former Professional Regulatory Commission Board of Dentistry Chair Dr. Rosita Canlas-Nisce. The blessing was led by Rev. Fr. Nicandro Vergara, the Vice-President for Religious Affairs of the Divine World College of Laoag.
Rang-ay Bank President & CEO, Ives Nisce started the program by stating that the event was a homecoming of sorts. Dingras is the home town of the mother of Rang-ay Bank’s first president Atty. Rodolfo M. Nisce, the father of Pres. Nisce. The late Mrs. Rosario Madamba-Nisce, hails from what is now Barangay Madamba in Dingras. The opening of the branch in town is in line with the bank’s commitment to serve the people of Ilocos. He reiterated the bank’s vision to be the bank for the Ilocanos. Currently, the bank serves six of the original Ilocano Provinces: Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, Pangasinan, Abra and Benguet.
Mayor Valenzuela welcomed the opening of the bank by bringing all of his municipal department heads. Together with his officials, the mayor expressed his delight with the opening of the new branch which is located in the Public Market of the town. He declared that the launch of Rang-ay Bank in the municipality as a sign of progress in the community. Dingras is known as the gateway to eastern Ilocos Norte and the rice granary of Ilocos Norte. With the inauguration of the bank, the mayor said, the growth of the town is recognized not only in the province but also in the region. His constituents no longer need to go to the city for financial services but can now avail of world class bank services right in their own town. He looks forward to working together with the bank to continue the evolution of Dingras. Also present was Dr Roberto Castro, the former three-term mayor of Dingras and currently a consultant to the 1st Congressional District of Ilocos Norte.
The opening of the branch, the fourth branch to open just this year, brings Rang-ay Bank’s branch network to 24 strong, strategically located among six provinces. The bank opened two branches in La Union: Bangar and Luna, and another in Sta Lucia, Ilocos earlier during the year. Dingras Branch is a full service branch that will service deposit and remittance services. Commercial and agricultural loans will also now be available to the townfolk of Dingras.
