The ceremonial ribbon cutting was led by town Mayor Victor Marron with Mrs. Geraldine Ortega, wife of the provincial governor, and former PRC Board of Dentistry Chairman Dr. Rosita Canlas-Nisce, Msgr. Alfonso Lacsamana, Parish Priest of St. Catherine of Alexandria Parish, officiated the blessing of the newly opened branch.
Mayor Marron welcomed the opening of the Branch and expressed the belief that the presence of Rang-ay Bank in Luna signals improved economic activity of the municipality as it provides easy and affordable access to credit for the local farmers and entrepreneurs and likewise offers a safe place for depositors to save.
The opening of this banking office will surely bring banking services to the doorstep of the townspeople of this interior town of La Union, which boasts of a unique beach composed of it’s renowned Luna stones. This pilgrimage town hosts the shrine of the miraculous “Lady of Namacpacan”. As it is the only bank serving the Municipality of Luna, La Union, this is Rang-ay Bank’s concrete contribution to the advocacy of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas for financial inclusion, making available a wide range of financial services to the unbanked sectors of our society.
