To All Participating Rural Banks:

Subject: Invitation to Register in the AGFP Orientation

As part of the RBAP’s continuing strategy to strengthen the rural banking
industry, the Rural Bankers’ Research and Development Foundation, Inc.
(RBRDFI), in partnership with Agricultural Guarantee Fund Pool (AGFP), a
program of the Department of Agriculture (DA) that encourages financial
institutions and other credit conduits to lend to small farmers and fisher
folk, will be conducting:

Date

April 28, 2014
( Monday)

8:30 AM to 5:00 PM

Registration: FREE

* Director, President, Loan Officer, Compliance Officer

Venue
Iloilo Business Hotel
Glicero Pison St., corner Benigno Aquino Ave.,
Mandurriao, Iloilo City

This one day orientation is in line with the concern that some RBAP member
banks have not yet accessed AGFP services and that many still lack
confidence to extend agricultural loans to Small Farmers and Fisherfolks
(SFFs). Thus, it is envisioned that through this orientation a better
understanding of AGFP and best practices on agri-lending among banks would
mitigate the risk associated in lending to the agricultural sector,
likewise address the need for access to credit.

In this regard, we encourage RBs to actively participate in the said
activity.

Participating RBs should meet the following criteria:
• CAMELS 3 rating or better.
— RB’s with less than CAMEL 3 rating are welcome to attend, but certain
condition.
• Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR) of 10% – minimum
• Profitable for the last two years
