Greetings from the Microfinance Council of the Philippines, Inc. (MCPI)!
It is with great pleasure to invite you to the annual conference of MCPI on July 26-27, 2012 at the Hyatt Hotel Manila. This year, the conference will carry the theme Focusing on Responsible and Client-Centered Microfinance. In the course of the last decade, microfinance has developed from a purely welfare-oriented activity to a commercially relevant line of business. However, the recent microfinance crises in countries such as India and Bolivia, among others, raise questions as to whether the commercial approach has gone too far. The conference will be an opportunity to pause and reflect on the path that has led the microfinance sector to this point and discuss how a client-centered approach by all microfinance actors will play a key role in the future of the sector.
The conference is MCPI’s annual event that brings together microfinance actors representing practitioners (NGOs, banks and cooperatives), funders, government institutions, donors, investors and other support organizations.
We have attached the conference program, conference details, and registration form, for your reference. Deadline for registration is on July 13, 2012.
