The Bolinao Bank was established and granted authority by the Central Bank to operate as a rural bank under the provisions of Republic Act 720 in September 2, 1966. Its establishment was spearheaded by Dr. Saturnino Abesamis and Mr. Fernando Navaral who, together with a core group of investors realized and fully appreciated the need for a rural bank in Bolinao to serve as a catalyst for countryside development
The Green Bank (Rural Green Bank of Caraga, Inc.) was established in 1975 as the Rural Bank of Nasipit, Inc. As a countryside financial institution it served the financial needs of the people in Nasipit for almost a decade until in the mid-80’s because of mismanagement it started to experience financial difficulties adversely affecting it ability to continue delivering financial services to the townspeople, farmers and fisherfolk.
