RBAP launches SMART Money Accreditation Training Course

Participants and representatives from RBAP-MABS, RBRDFI and SMART with their E-Wallet cards

The highly-anticipated SMART Money Accreditation Training Course for rural banks was finally launched in historic Intramuros by the Rural Bankers Research and Development Training Foundation, in partnership with SMART Communications Inc. and RBAP’s Microenterprise Access to Banking Services-USAID program.

For one whole day last March 9, representatives  from various Luzon based RB’s immersed themselves in learning the first ever MIMO (Money in Money Out) Services geared for RBs.  Trainors from Seed Finance meanwhile had their hands full as they not only explained the Smart money application process, they also had to answer queries from participants who were enthusiastically absorbing the features and benefits of this new transaction handling.  One of the highlights of the event was the Smart Money Activation Hands on Exercises, which all participants took part in. Divided into three groups, each had a chance to learn the process of activating their new Smart Money cash card, transferring money and reloading by just using a mobile phone, powered of course by SMART. Aside from these, the trainors showed videos, explaining the process of consolidating, settling and reconciling record entries.

The Smart Money Wallet is an electronic wallet that lets users, even when they are in far-flung areas, do all kinds of monetary transactions by just using a mobile phone.  What makes this SMART Money Wallet particularly interesting is, it can be used as a debit MasterCard and ATM card too. Withdrawing, paying, transferring money and purchasing are now easier for RB clients anywhere in the Philippines or, in the world with SMART Money Wallet.
